Min. Louis Farrakhan is one of the most respected black leaders of our time.  So, people were confused and curious as to why a photo surfaced of the minister meeting with Kim Kardashian and Kanye West.  But Kanye lives in Chicago, along with the minister, and Farrakhan often consults with numerous black celebrities behind the scenes.

Despite Farrakhan and West living in the same city, the surprise was still huge among those who wouldn’t expect to see Kanye’s wife Kim with the minister.  But there they were, posing like a big, happy family, with baby Northwest in tow.  Kim’s smiling, which hopefully means that she learned something.

A rapper by the name of CyHi posted the image on Instagram with this caption:

Me YE North and @kimkardashian went to see the Minister @louisfarrakhan and I was honored the words he spoke to us were very encouraging. Then we at some good soup and Ye asked me to rap a verse for him so I had to give him the first verse to #Mandela he said I have a brilliant and deep mind!!! Great experience with his family and Ye’s family!!! I came along way from getting kicked out of highschool in the 10th grade lol hey now I might be the most influential person to ever come out my highschool crazy how GOD works!!! #Mr.Redan #Goodmusic #Family #Leaders

You can’t hate on the picture, since every American can learn from the wisdom of Farrakhan.  With all of the influence that Kanye West has on the minds of black people, it looks like he was spending time with Farrakhan to soak up some wisdom.

Kanye is just one of many rappers to come and see the minister.  The rapper Ice Cube gave a famous speech to the Nation of Islam in the 1990s, which some believe served as inspiration for some of his greatest music, especially the album “Death Certificate,” which had a very strong pro-black angle to it.

Here’s a young Ice Cube giving a speech to the Nation of Islam:
