Where Did LeBron James Find His Hairline?

BY:  John “Hennry” Harris

LeBron James may be the best basketball player on the planet, but not even can escape the jokes that haunt him about is ever disappearing hairline.  There are memes about his hairline, hilarious jokes and one-offs, I mean, no one is perfect.

Aside from cutting carbohydrates from his diet and shedding a noticeable amount of weight this offseason, it looks like LeBron has called up one of those late night hair growth infomercials because his hairline has magically reappeared!

images6QIU0CUZHair loss can be a tricky thing because it signals aging.  Balding in men also effects self-confidence greatly.

“Thick hair has always been associated with youth and masculinity,” says Albert Mannes, Ph.D., a University of Pennsylvania researcher who’s studied perceptions of balding.  In fact, more men are images9FLD5JAMworried about losing their hair than losing their minds!  Luckily, women are relatively unconcerned about male hair loss (only 13% would be very upset if their man lost their hair), but men continue to assume it would be a turn-off (52%).

Yet, nowadays baldness can be deceiving as two-thirds of men face hair loss by the age of 35.  LeBron is only 29, but has been losing this battle with Mother Nature for some time now.  Joking about LeBron’s hairline has become a culture within itself.

LeBron James is one of the most recognizable and marketable people on the planet so of course he is image-conscious, he has to be.  His looks are a part of how he is paid from endorsements.  Many have been calling for LeBron to “let it go” like Michael Jordan or Charles Barkley and join “the club”.

carloboozerDid LeBron decide against that and go the Carlos Boozer route?

Whatever works for that individual I guess?

Check out some of these memorable LeBron James hair memes … are these jokes a thing of the past?  Is the club that LeBron joined “The Hair Club for Men”?
