An old conflict between Cleveland Cavaliers star LeBron James and former teammate Delonte West has resurfaced with West taking shots and issuing what appears to be threats on Instagram towards James.

West warned the former NBA MVP and two-time NBA champion to “take my name out ur mouth,” and “its all fun and games until somebody gets hurt.”

The rift between West and James goes back to 2010 while during the playoffs a rumor surfaced that West was having a sexual relationship with teammate LeBron James’ mother.  Knowledge of the illicit relationship was rumored to be known throughout the organization, except for James, and surfacing of the story is what ultimately led LeBron to tank on the floor and open the door for him to exit to the Miami Heat.

West continued his Instagram tirade by posting a scathing meme posting a picture of Stephen Curry’s father and former Charlotte Hornet great Dell Curry and himself with the caption, “Whos dad was better. Curry or lebrons”

O U C H !!!!

Delonte West, who also suffers from severe bipolar disorder, made national news during that fateful Cavs 2009-10 season when he was booked on weapons charges after being pulled over and found armed with a 9mm Beretta, a .357 Magnum, a Remington 870 in a guitar case, 100 rounds of shotgun ammo, and a 8-inch Bowie knife.

Oddly enough, West’s Instagram rant comes after he reportedly gave James praises in an interview with the Northwest Ohio Media Group crediting James with saving his life from his depression.westjamesfriends

“He sat with me in the locker room for like an hour and was rapping it up with me by giving me words of encouragement,” West said. “Keep in mind, practice was still going on. He left practice and sat with me for a while, just keeping me company. He later walked me down the stairs and said, ‘D, I don’t know where you’re going or what you’re about to do, but I’ll be right here when you get back.’

“My spirits were so high at that point. I don’t know what would have happened had I left in the condition I was in prior. It’s a testament to the type of person he is.”

LeBron James has not responded to the threats, but given West’s history I am sure it is a matter that will be taken very seriously.

West is currently not in the NBA.
