Lynch Responds to Retirement Rumors with a Colorful Response
By Angela Wills
Many people work hard all their lives and often dream of one day retiring and enjoying their golden years. At least that’s the plan that most people have, unless your name is Marshawn Lynch.
Lynch, known to be a media foe, makes big plays on the field, but when it comes to the media and their questions, he’d rather keep them guessing.
When the Seahawks’ running back was walking into a charity event this past Wednesday night, he was asked by a media photographer if he’d be returning to the Seahawks next year. His response was one that is clearly not listed on the top 10 responses for the “are you planning on retiring question”.
His reply was quite an abrasive one to say the least.
Lynch glanced over his shoulder and cracked a cunning smile and replied, “Is yo’ b—- comin’ back.”
Yes. That was his answer, and it should come as no surprise to the media or the public being that Lynch has occasionally faced fines for failing to speak with media outlets, and when he does respond, his words aren’t minced at all.
The rumors of retirement have surfaced for Lynch ever since the Seahawks lost to the Panthers in the divisional round of the playoffs, but “Beast Mode,” as he’s called, has been threatening to leave the game for the past two seasons.
However, there is a possibility that the rumors may have a bit of substance to them this time around. Lynch has endured some pretty hard hits, resulting in injuries during most of the 2015-16 football season.
According to a statement given by the general manager of the Seahawks, John Schneider, he is under the impression that he is leaning towards retirement. But questions linger surrounding Schnieders’ credibility as he spoke with a different tune on another radio station that same day.
Schneider said, “I really, honestly don’t know at this point. If you put a gun to my head I would say he is leaning towards retiring. But with Marshawn you never really know.”
That’s clearly an understatement in regards to a player of Marshawn Lynch’s caliber. He’s as dominant on the field as he is shocking off of it. He tends to display a somewhat animated type of behavior when referring or searching for his candy of choice, which obviously isn’t working to make him any less aggravated as reporters go on to hassle him for information regarding his decision about retirement.
