Kobe Bryant’s adoration of Michael Jordan is something that has been well reported and the two players’ styles mirror each other as if Bryant was an Air Jordan clone.

Bryant, quite frankly, is also the closest player to Michael Jordan when you compare championships and accolades.mjkobethenumbers

This years NBA All-Star Game marks the last All-Star game Kobe Bryant will appear and is the apex of the “Farewell Kobe” tour as he is set to retire at the end of the season, Jordan Brand gifted Bryant with a pretty cool going away present.

Friday night in Toronto at the Jordan Brand All-Star party with Bryant in attendance, the Jordan Brand presented Bryant with his very own collection of Air Jordans – every pair of Jordans issued from I through XXX in his size 14.  To personalize the collection for a legend like Bryant, the company included the Lakers’ purple and gold III’s and VIII’s, the shoes Bryant wore during the 2002-03 season.

“The Jordan Brand is about more than basketball, it’s about leaving a legacy and honoring those who have left a legacy,” Jordan Brandthekobejordanbrand president Larry Miller said. “Tonight the brand was able to honor one of the game’s great players and the legacy he created.”

The Lakers accents on each are a nice touch and a gift like this is sure to make any sneakerhead catch the Holy Ghost !!  Bryant has received, and will continue to receive some great gifts during his farewell tour, but Jordan Brand’s gift really ups the ante for the rest of the season.

mjkbcompshotKobe Bryant was given a white set of the shoes as a retirement gift, but Jordan Brand also created an alternate collection of the gift in black that the company auctioned off on eBay to raise money for charity.

If you want to bid on the black collection opening bids are at $100,000, so crack open your piggy banks !!

But hey, you will have a one-of-a-kind collection and the proceeds are supposed to go to charity.
