It is common for rappers to carry a gangster persona in their rap, in the name of keeping real, but Young Money rapper Widner “Flow” Degruy, 23, and two others were indicted for the Memorial Day slayings of two brothers in New Orleans.

Flow was originally booked on July 1, 2015 on a pair of murder charges in the slayings of longtime friend, Kendrick “Muddy Cup” Bishop, 22, and his brother, Kendred Bishop, 18, who were shot dead May 25, 2015 as they sat in a Kia sedan.

Degruy posted $500,000 bail after his first arrest and was free until he was arrested again on the new indictment with his girlfriend, Jamya “Mya” Brady, who received to new obstruction charges.flowandevans

Jonathan “Lil Joe” Evans, 18, was arrested on July 1st as an alleged accomplice and has remained behind bars on $535,000 bail since the initial arrest and a fourth defendant, Chantell Edwards, was accused in the new indictment as an accessory after the fact to the killings and is still at large.

According to authorities, Flow’s girlfriend, Jamya “Mya” Brady, helped Evans flee the scene of the double murder, while Flow hid out at the residence of Chantell Edwards.

A police report suggest that Flow actually left his cellphone on the ground and appeared to be surprised when he saw it.

“Hold up, hold up,” Degruy reportedly said. “That’s my phone.”

When approached by police about the cellphone, Flow allegedly lied about his name and changed his story offering that he opened the door to the brothers’ home to the sound of gunshots ringing out.  He told authorities that he then ran to the Kia and attempted to call police, but his cellphone screen was cracked and threw the phone on the ground in a fit of rage.

Flow was arrested after police viewed video footage that allegedly shows Degruy and another man running from the car after the gunfire.

Evans was identified through a Crimestoppers tip.flow

After the murders, Degruy posted a picture of Kendrick “Muddy Cup” Bishop on Instagram with the caption, “Love u Blood.”

Degruy’s only other arrest stemmed from a marijuana conviction in 2012 which landed him a suspended six-month sentence.

There still appears to be a few holes in the story, the glaring one being why would Flow shoot someone who is described as longtime friend.
