Could Colin Kaepernick Be Heading To The Jacksonville Jaguars?

Ever since Colin Kaepernick protested the U.S. flag, it appears as though he has been blackballed by NFL owners. However, many NFL owners will avoid the term ‘blackballed.’ Instead they will give some crazy excuse as to why Kaepernick isn’t right for their team.

Anyone who follows the NFL will have to conclude that Kaepernick is much better than a lot of quarterbacks (starters and backups) on most teams. Look at the New York Jets or the Jacksonville Jaquars.

Kaepernick’s football resume should have him on a team. Again, it goes back to the point of protesting the U.S. flag. It’s nothing about his ability or his skill set. The question is, will a team will be willing to risk its reputation and fan loyalty by signing Kaepernick?

Well, in some shocking news, it looks as though the owner of the Jacksonville Jaguars is open to signing Kaepernick.

The owner of the Jaguars is Shad Khan. In a story published in theGrio, “Speaking to the team’s flagship radio station, Khan responded “absolutely” when asked Thursday whether he would support signing Kaepernick if the team’s front office wanted to do it.”

Khan did mention that he would not have knelt in protest of the national anthem, but he does respect Kaepernick’s decision.

Former New York Giants head coach, Tom Coughlin is the team’s executive vice president and the one who makes all personnel decisions.

Here’s something worth noting:

“Kaepernick has 72 touchdown passes, 30 interceptions and 13 rushing scores in six seasons, better numbers than Jaguars quarterbacks Blake Bortles and Chad Henne.

Khan’s comments came before Jacksonville’s third preseason game, a 24-23 loss to the Carolina Panthers that did little, if anything, to settle the team’s quarterback competition.”

Only time will tell if Kaepernick will get signed. Statistics don’t lie when it comes to comparing Kaepernick’s numbers with the quarterbacks of Jacksonville.
