Chiefs’ RB Jamaal Charles Literally Breaks Teammate’s Ankle With Juke Move
BY: John “Hennry” Harris
Kansas City Chiefs star running back Jamaal Charles recently signed a 2-year contract extension making him one of the highest paid running backs in the NFL. Charles has proven to be one of the most reliable and shifty running backs in the league and he proved it once again against second-year Chiefs cornerback Sanders Commings.
Jamaal Charles reportedly performed a video game juke move so nasty on Commings in training camp that he broke him down and broke his ankles. No really. Charles juked Commings so bad that the cornerback literally broke his ankle!
According to SB Nation’s Joel Thorman, this is how the play went down:
“Unfortunately for Commings, he was hurt later in practice after Jamaal Charles juked the shoes out of the defense. He was helped to the trainers room after that play. The Chiefs said he had a right ankle injury.”
This is the second significant injury in as many training camps for Commings, a fifth-round pick out of the University of Georgia in 2013. Last year in training camp, Commings sustained a broken collarbone and wound up on the injured reserve with a designation to return before landing on the season-ending IR in 3 weeks after being activated.
Jamaal Charles, 27, is coming off of his best all-around season in which he ran 1,287 yards and 12 touchdowns leading the Chiefs into the playoffs. Charles also produced a league-high 35.3 percent of the team’s yards from scrimmage, leading the Chiefs in rushing and receiving. Charles also led the NFL with a whopping 19 total touchdowns.
Charles 2-year extension will keep him signed with the Chiefs through 2017 and will pay him an additional $18.1 million over the two additional years.
BOSSes lets wish Sanders Commings a speedy recovery and lets hope Charles saves some of those moves for the regular season!!
