Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell showed that his funny bone is still in tact as he looks to rebound from his season-ending torn MCL back on November 1, 2015 against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Bell, who has served a suspension for drugs after he was arrested with then-teammate LeGarrette Blount on a DUI and marijuana possession charges in August 2014 and suspended for the first 4 games of last season, revealed on social media that he was indeed asked to provide a urine sample on 4/20 – a widely known and celebrated stoner’s holiday.

His initial statement on Twitter caused at least one fan to hope that Bell would pass the surprise drug test, but the running back would ease the fears of his fans who are anxiously awaiting his return to the gridiron.

lbellreportBell’s DUI and marijuana arrest was something made for a movies as he an Blount were actually arrested on the way to the airport for a Steelers preseason game last year.

During the arrest, Bell not only admitted that it was his weed, but also brazenly admitted to the police that he had been smoking, telling them, “I smoked two hours ago.  I’m not high any more.”

Bell would ultimately serve a two game suspension because of the incident.lbellstiffarm

All across the country marijuana is being decriminalized and being voted on being made legal not only for medicinal purposes, but for recreational purposes as well.

The NFL continues to treat marijuana as a drug on the same level as cocaine, heroin and the prescription pain killers that plague the NFL even though it has become clear that society’s attitudes towards the herb, as well as the medical communities attitude, continues to prove otherwise.

lebellpointI hope everything remains all fun and games with Le’Veon Bell AFTER the results of test are in. Bell seems really determined to get back onto the football field and the Steelers are definitely a better team with him.
